SHELAGH SHARES

A few weeks ago now the Cullimore family honoured Shelagh in such a beautiful way.  Shelagh Shares was an event that took place at Food Share Toronto.  It was a beautiful Sunday Afternoon surrounded by family, friends and tasty food!  The afternoon was a huge success and of course an emotional one.  Shelagh really has had a beautiful life and is constantly reminding me of how short, amazing and precious it is.  Celebrate the Ordinary and be Extra Ordinary!

I love the colours that are created when shooting in the forest on an overcast day.  The silence can almost be felt.

I took these photos a few weeks ago.  Evan and I took Charlie ( the dog) up to the cottage for a long weekend.  I obviously love the cottage in the summer but to be able to go up in the dead of the winter is something completely different and offers such an amazing experience.   You are wrapped in a blanket of snow and sound does not travel far,  it is peacefully quiet.  You feel isolated and alone and yes at times that may cause a little bit of panic while you walk to the out house at midnight, however it gives the cottage such beauty and allows you to really feel you have escaped the chaos of the city.  Evan and I are always trying to plan our next get away, for us the next time we go it will be completely different and maybe even show us signs of spring.

I have fallen into the habit of photographing homes that are been torn down and rebuilt for something bigger and what some consider better.  I have now become a full time resident in Toronto and the neighbourhood I am living in is constantly changing.  I have not been in this area long but if you were to walk up the road you will have a wide variety of changing houses to photograph.  Maybe it’s the convenience factor that I am drawn to this homes but I believe there is something more to it.  I am only scratching the surface at this point but like these new homes this project is a work in progress.
